The Filth and the Fury
Documentary · 2000
Julien Temple's second documentary profiling punk rock pioneers the Sex Pistols is an enlightening, entertaining trip back to a time when the punk movement was just discovering itself. Featuring archival footage, never-before-seen performances, rehearsals, and recording sessions as well as interviews with group members who lived to tell the tale--including the one and only John Lydon (aka Johnny Rotten).

The Filth and the Fury is good for you if…
- you like raw punk, rehearsals and chaotic live shows.
- you want the Sex Pistols' story told by the band themselves.
- you like seeing the angry Britain of the 1970s that made punk.
The Filth and the Fury is bad for you if…
- you can't watch Sid Vicious's heroin addiction and his end.
- you want a warm, gentle evening, not snarling punk and spitting crowds.
