La vita di Shaun va a rotoli: perde tempo al pub del quartiere con il suo migliore amico Ed, ha problemi con sua madre e trascura la fidanzata Liz. Quando questa lo lascia, Shaun decide di affrontare la responsabilità della vita adulta. Purtroppo, i morti sono ritornati in vita e minacciano di divorare i vivi.
