Una sera, al tavolo di un bar, un vecchio amico racconta al regista Ari un terrificante incubo ricorrente in cui si trova alle calcagna ventisei cani furiosi. Ogni notte, lo stesso numero di cani. I due uomini deducono che ci sia una connessione con la missione dell'esercito israliano durante la prima guerra in Libano a cui hanno partecipato negli anni '80. Ari è sorpreso da quanto poco ricorda di quel periodo, e decide di esplorare il mistero rintracciando e intervistando vecchi amici e commilitoni in giro per il mondo.
